The Estate
Alain Voge is known today as one of the great producers of the Cornas region of the Northern Rhône Valley. Domaine Alain Voge started producing wine in 1958 and has been jined by Albéric Mazoyer since 2004. In recent years the estate has adopted a different direction in their productions that highlight the atypical terroir of the Cornas and Saint-Péray regions. Their style exemplifies the rocky soils of Cornas and have a remarkable concentration of black fruits and bewitch us with their incredible finesse and length.
The 2013 Vintage
The plots of land are over 30 years old on slopes of decomposed granite, the "gore". Harvest is done manually and the vineyard is in the process of conversion to Biodynamic viticulture.
The 2013 vintage was marked with a rainy and cool spring was made up for by a sunny July and a superb September which offered beautiful maturities to the grapes.
The vinification was done in stainless steel tanks, with a maceration of about 4 to 5 weeks with daily punching down and pumping over. The wines are then aged for 18 to 20 months in barrels, of which about 20% are new.
