The Castello di Neive estate has a centuries-long history closely tied to the town of Nieve and its wines, and to Barbaresco in particular.. The Castello and its cellars, the Santo Stefano vineyard and the other exceptional vineyards, along with a centuries-long and well-documented history require us to pay scrupulous attention to every choice we make, both in the vineyard and in the cellar so as to transmit all this to our clients.
Castello de Nieve's history dates back to 1735, when Manfredo Bongiovanni, financed by donations from his uncle, began construction of the aristocratic palazzo which later became the Castello di Neive. One of the wealthiest landowners in the area, more than 500 Piedmontese giornate, equivalent to 200 hectares were attributed to him.
He is considered to be the founder of the house of Castelborgo.
Along with Nebbiolo, Pinot Noir is one of the most elegant wines in the world.
Grown for more than 300 years in Neive, it can now be considered indigenous.
Aromatics: Very subtle notes of redcurrant, a touch of floral, oak leaves, and strawberry candy grace the nose.
Palate: Lithe and translucent, it offers pleasant crunchiness with very fine tannins. The vivid freshness is utterly mouth-watering, making it an elegant and refreshing choice1.
This wine is a blend of intriguing small fruits, spices, and aromatic mountain herbs. Its garnet-red color and soft warmth are supported by gentle tannins. A truly delightful choice for wine enthusiasts!
