This spectacular California red blend gives a dark ruby red hue in the glass.  Followed by an expressive bouquet of dark fruit including black current, black raspberry, plum, and lighter highlights of cranberry and pomegranate. Some spicy notes of black pepper, tar, and earth are also present. The Delta Red is a lush, velvety, attractive wine with beautiful fruit flavors and balance. On the palate there is a presence of bright fruit flavors of black current and black cherry, pomegranate, tar.  A peppery spice, rich minerality compliments the dark fruit. Great acid balance, soft texture. Long, spicy, fruit-driven finish. 

Dashe Cellars is a family-owned artisan winery located in the heart of the Urban Wine Country. After 15 years in Oakland's Jack London Square district, Dashe Cellars has moved to Spirits Alley on the old Naval Airbase in Alameda, CA.

Founded by the husband and wife winemaking team of Michael and Anne Dashe, Dashe Cellars crafted its first vintage of Dry Creek Zinfandel in 1996. Since that time, the Dashe’s have focused on producing exceptional, single-vineyard wines using a traditional, non-industrial approach to winemaking.

Who would have thought that just a short distance from San Francisco one could find 100-year-old vines of Zinfandel, Carignane, Mouvedre, as well as newer plantings of more uncommon varietals such as Teraldego, Tannat, Barbera, and Petite Sirah? Dashe Cellars didn’t. So, with a bit of exploration they were shocked to find such a wealth of grapes within just an hour or so of the Dashe Cellars winery. In the rich delta soils of the San Francisco Bay, where the Sacramento and San Joaquin Rivers meander into the bay, they found a wealth of superb grapes waiting to be turned into a unique wine.  They realized that the cool breezes and hot days of the area forged interesting red grapes—a “Delta Red” blend—that with careful blending, could make a luscious, delicious wine. The result, which is simply called “Delta Reds,” has outstripped Dashe Cellars' wildest hopes.
