Every once in a while you come across something that defies your expectations in a most delightful way. Kevin Kinsella did not grow up on a vineyard. He did not live through many vintages toiling in a cellar. Kevin made his success in other fields, and that afforded him the opportunity to purchase a vineyard and start making wine.
The Heirloom Vineyard was planted in 2001 and is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Josh tells us that this vineyard receives even sunlight throughout the day and that the soils are well drained. All of the vineyards are irrigated solely by the water reservoir on the property, Spencer Lake.
Red-fruit-forward and full of sanguine earthiness, this wine is soft, supple and expressive in rich voluptuous flavor and a cradling of charred, toasty oak. Full bodied and ripe, it delivers plenty of rounded lushness.
