The Monte dei Ragni winery is a small family business that has been producing high-quality wines for over 500 years. The winery is led by Zeno Zignoli, a passionate winemaker who is committed to producing wines that reflect the typicality of the Valpolicella terroir.

The name "Monte dei Ragni" derives from the locality where the company's vineyards are located, a ridge that extends between the villages of Bure and Mazzurega, in the municipality of Fumane. The vineyards are located at an altitude of about 220-430 meters above sea level, on calcareous and clay soils.

Monte dei Ragni's Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore is a Veneto red wine produced by the Monte dei Ragni farm, located in the municipality of Fumane, in Valpolicella. The wine is made from a selection of Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara grapes, harvested by hand and air dried in special rooms for about 30 days. After pressing, the must is fermented in steel at a controlled temperature. The wine obtained is then re-fermented on the Amarone pomace (hence the name 'Ripasso' - Re-Passing), giving it a more full-bodied and tannic character. The wine is aged in wooden barrels for a period of at least 12 months.

Colour, aromas and flavours

Monte dei Ragni Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore has an intense ruby red color with garnet reflections. On the nose there are hints of ripe red fruit, spices, tobacco and cocoa. On the palate it is a robust and structured wine, with well-integrated tannins and a persistent finish.
