Wines of character, respecting traditions and the terroir
Wine-growers from father to son for over two centuries, our family estate operates 18,2ha of vineyards in the Beaujolais region, primarily in Juliénas, but also in Chénas, Moulin-à-vent, Saint-Amour, and Beaujolais-Villages white.
For over a century, the company has been vinifying some of its wines in the Cellier de la Vieille Église, the former church in Juliénas, disused since 1868, which belongs to the Loron family, who have converted this historic building into a winery for their wine-growers.
Juliénas «Clos Des Poulettes»
ORIGIN: The plots are located in the village of Juliénas. Between the Estate and the village itself, with an area of 1.6 hectares.
GRAPE VARIETIES: White-juiced Gamay noir
SOIL: Bed of “Blue Stone” and ancient alluviums.
VINIFICATION: The wine comes exclusively from this plot. Traditional Beaujolais vinification in gridded cement vats for 8–12 days, whole bunches with temperature control. Estate bottled in February / March, just 900 bottles for the whole output for the moment, as one plot is being replanted.
TASTING: Garnet colour with scents of violet and a red fruit aroma. On the palate, a tasty balance, the terroir of the plot gives it a finesse and a grain that’s different from the traditional Juliénas the Estate produces.
