Maison Jaffelin is considered the smallest of the Grand Burgundy negociants.
The Domaine has recently undergone a renaissance. About 10 years ago, the owners hired a young woman Marinette Garnier, who has serious 'Street Cred' in Burgundy, having worked for among others Domaine Dujac and Comtes Lafon. Marinette has definitely 'Upped the Game" of Maison Jaffelin.
Jaffelin Les Chapitres Bourgogne Pinot Noir is a red from Bourgogne, France. It has notes of red fruit notes such as cherry, strawberry.. The grapes used to make this wine are harvested by hand and transported in 20 kg crates. The harvested grapes are fully destemmed and then go into vats for around 15 days at below 32°C. The wine is partially aged in previously-used French oak barrels for one year, before being bottled.
TASTING NOTES - Red ruby hue with bright tints. On the nose, the wine releases pronounced aromas of crunchy red fruit. Powerful, yet supple on the palate.with smooth, coated tannins. The fruit is perfectly combined with judicious use of oak adding fine complexity.
